Mami is not anything new for Pinoys, in fact Pares or Mami houses are scattered along the streets of Manila.

Jonas Special Mami
While completing my Christmas shopping, I chanced upon a Mami house at SM San Lazaro named Jonas. I got curious because th restaurant is always full packed, so I decided to try it. The Mami house only offers a few dishes unlike others who also offers rice toppings. Aside from their famous Pares, they also offer Mami, Siomai, Siopao, lumpiang shanghai and some desserts. I tried their Mami with Siomai, beef and Wonton toppings paired with their Asado Siopao… I love it:) Read the rest of this entry →

I was never an Indie film lover or some sort but since my fellow night crawlers; Laise and Lara convinced me to join them at Cubao-X for dinner, I found my right foot roaming the artist’s hub. After being overwhelmed with pre-war cameras in an antique shop in the area, we finally decided to eat and look for an interesting restaurant in the place.

Mogwai in Cubao-X
Cubao X has been known as an artistic venue for music lovers, fasionistas, photographers, film producers and antique lovers. Though most of the buildings are considered run-down, they were able to revive the place with fantastic collection of paintings, clothing’s, music, movies and antiques. Read the rest of this entry →

It’s almost lunch time and it was just over an hour after finishing a huge Halo Halo from Boracay’s famous Halowich. While completing my pasalubong shopping at D’Mall, I bumped into Tina - my fellow travel writer who now resides in Dubai and currenly in Boracay for a short holiday with her friends so I asked he to reccomend good place to eat since she’s already almost 4 days in the island. She immediately replied “Lemoni Cafe” Knowing her taste, I can say that the restaurant should really be worth recommending.

Delicious Tiger Prawns with Coconut Risotto
Lemoni Cafe offers Asian and Continental breakfast dishes and light meal dishes like Fish Cakes with Laksa, Asian Plate with Maki and Lemon Kinilaw, Soba Noodles with Ahi Tuna, Tiger Prawns with Coconut Rissoto, Seared Tuna with Lemon Mash and other healthy main courses. They also offer various delectable desserts like Flourless Chocolate Cakes, Banana Muffin and Lemon-based Desserts. Read the rest of this entry →

It took me an hour to reach Robinsons Place Manila due to heavy traffic in Quiapo area. Since I left my place without having breakfast, I walked around Manila Midtown wing and saw this new restaurant called MoMo Food + Drink. Its pretty new restaurant, In fact it was their third day of operation when I visited their recently opened restaurant.

Bacon and Pancakes Php119.00 ++
Unlike Mall of Asia, Robinsons Place is much more accessible for me and all areas are fully air-conditioned maybe that’s the reason why I prefer to set most of my meetings in this mall. Robinsons Place new wing offers a good range of restaurants from mid range to uber pricey restaurants catering to the rich and famous and social climbers too (LOL). Read the rest of this entry →

Even before I made my decicion to revisit Boracay for a food trip, Zuzuni is first on my list of restaurants to visit. It may sound Japanese but Zuzuni is actually a Greek word which means “cute little bug” and it is a term of endearment for friends, family and pets just like how Ilonggo people use the word “Pangga”.

Greek Pita Pizza with Feta and Olives
Zuzuni Restaurant is an ideal restaurant for honeymooners since it has a romantic appeal specially if you chose to eat at their alfresco dining right in front of the beach. The restaurant has a neat layout and the interior Décor is cozy, tropical inspired and minimalist. Read the rest of this entry →

After having breakfast at Mango-Ray Bar and Restaurant, I headed to D’Mall to check out new restaurants and specialty shops in the area. That was just past 9o’clock but the temperature was already humid so I decided to look for an Ice Cream bar in the area.

Boracay’s Tropical Storm
Good thing I found “Fruits in Ice Cream Summer Cafe” which is right in front of the “Ferris Wheel. I ordered their “tropical storm” (Php145.00) which has a combination of Melon and Mango ice cream mixed with tropical fruit cocktail, strawberry syrup and cherry on top. Read the rest of this entry →

After the successful 2008 Wordcamp Philippines event which was held in CSB a couple of days ago, I found myself seating in a bamboo inspired chair in Abe Restaurant Serendra with Gail, Nina, Marc and Eric.

After almost 15 minutes of waiting, our food was served together with their famous Tanglad Iced Tea. Here are some of the kapampangan specialties that we have tried.
