My job keeps me going non-stop. From the time I wake up to the time I fall into bed, I am on the move and there isn’t much time for enjoyment in the middle parts. Sure, I take time off to enjoy with friends, I get time to have a vacation, and I usually get at least one day a week when I can work on my food / travel blogs and watch tennis championships on TV, but for the rest of the time, my life is go go go!
That’s one of the reasons why I’ve learned to appreciate some of the little things in life during my busy days. Take yesterday for instance. In the morning I had to rush to a meeting to convince my new clients that the campaign I’ve designed for them is superior to anything else they’ve ever dealt with. So in addition to dealing with an early commute, I also had to do a lot of preparation beforehand, which meant that I didn’t have a full nights sleep.
Next, I needed to take care of email and file my Ad reports so that all of the ad placements on my blogs would get paid on time. I skipped lunch and through the afternoon, I had a series of high level meetings with clients and project managers which offered me no time to wind down.
Finally at 4:00 pm, I decided that I had to give myself a little bit of a break. I walked to the corner market and picked up one of the best things life has to offer. A Häagen-Dazs Caramel Biscuit and Cream and for just a time I just wanna shout “Do not disturb. Slow melting in progress”.. while enjoying this newest Häagen-Dazs offering.
With that, I kicked my feet up on my desk and entered that amazingly blissful state that always comes when a busy man can sit back and really enjoy life. For the next 20 minutes, I recharged my batteries and when I came out of that office, I was ready once again to take on the world.
Nobody knows how I do it, but I’m not going to tell them LOL. The only thing a busy gourmet nomad wannabe like me wants is a delicious treat enjoyed with my feet up on my desk while blogging about my most recent travel and food trips:)
PS. I cant find my SD Card… Photos to follow:)
