Last week, I visited Davao City to join Davao Food Appreciation Tour with fellow Bloggers from Manila, Davao, CDO and Socsargen. I arrived in Davao 4 hours earlier for our first activity and I took the opportunity to do my Friday banking routine and other errands before attending the bloggers briefing and welcome party for the participants.
It was exactly two o’clock when we reached Mam Bebs Bakeshop – a specialty shop that offers not only yummy pastries and breads but also good quality affordable meals that will leave you stuffed to the gills. After the short orientation and shameless self introduction, a set of sumptuous homemade goodies was served courtesy of Mam Bebs Bakeshop owned and managed by Andrew dela Serna.
Some of their popular dishes are Pancit Luglug, Siopao (my favorite), Potato Rolls and everyone’s favorite Mango Squares.
The noodle dishes here that I recommend include Lug Lug, traditional spaghetti, Chicken Mami, and Batchoy. The first thing you notice when you walk inside is its simplicity.
Come with your appetite, for you will want to sample it all! My preference is for the pastries, and on a recent trip I really enjoyed their mini ensaymadas or potato rolls, which are soft with cheese and have a great buttery sweet taste.
The next thing I sampled was the Mango Square. I was not surprised why this not so tiny bar was actually an instant crowd favorite among the DFAT participants. It was really really really good!!!
Among the food served, Its undeniable that Mam Bebs Siopao is my favorite. Why? I just cant imagine how I was able to finish 5 pieces in just one sitting:)

I found this interesting post inside the restaurant:)
If you are in Davao, or you have friends coming in, make sure you check out Mam Bebs Bakeshop and Refreshment Parlor. Locals might remember Mam Bebs as La Suerte Bakery and can be found at the CVA building along CM Recto Street in the heart of downtown Davao City. To order you can contact (082) 227-8131 or (082) 300-7403.
What’s DFAT? Its not an organization of FAT people:( For the unfamilliar, DFAT is an annual gathering of bloggers organized by Avatar Media. DFAT’s goal is to promote Davao City as a food, adventure, and ecotourism spot.
