A Pinoy Photo Food Blog
Last week, Food Bloggers where invited by Fish & Co. and Yehey.com for another mouth watering, fun, exciting, and exhilarating “Prep Up The Platter Challenge”.

Philly fish Steak – The Winning Entry
Prior to the event, I was asked by Yehey Staff to email a list of my preferred food plating ingredients needed for my assigned Fish and Chips flavor which is PHILADELPHIA. All along, I thought that they would be the one providing all of the ingredients and garnishing that we emailed but to our surprise, we were grouped into 4 and a P500 budget was issued per team. We were given exactly 30 minutes to produce and buy things we need at the Supermarket which is three floors down from the event venue.

Vishnu Fish Delight – Team India
Being the team’s treasurer, It’s kinda hard to choose which not to include on our grocery basket since we were working on a budget. I just love these kinds of events, it’s like an Amazing Race for foodies. Being the most eager group (I guess), we were able to finish shopping before the other group did.
We immediately started unpacking our ingredients and arranged them in preparation for the food plating. When they finally said GO!, we immediately started our food plating. I was the one assigned to designing the food while the rest were peeling, slicing and cutting the some veggie ingredients.. In our team, everyone was eager, creative and cooperative and that made us the the best. Needless to say, our team (Eric, Mec, Animetric, Edelweiza and me) finished ahead of the other group.
Food styling is my passion, It’s not that easy to choose the type of the plate and garnishing that will match the food. Food Plating is sometimes more time consuming than the cooking itself but I actually love it!
Aside from our own Philly Fish Steak plate, I also like the team Japan’s “Geisha Under The Sun” Fish and Chips, They were so artistic! The Malaysian team’s design was also nice while the Indian teams “Vishnu Fish Delight” looked really Indian.

Malay Ko – Team Malaysia’s Fish n Chips
Soon After everyone finished their own Fish and Chips presentation, the winners were announced and of course our team won the award for having the “Best Fish & Chips Plate”. And here comes the best part, They served us the four new flavors (India, Japan, Malaysia and US-Philadelphia) of their famous Fish & Chips.
They also let us order our choice of food from their menu but our team was too shy so we only ordered dessert, hehe. The hot fudge chocolate cake looked good, the chocolate fudge was not too sweet and it tasted good with the vanilla ice cream.
It maybe funny but It was actually my second time eating Fish & Chips, my first time was in Fish Bar Boracay and after tasting Fish & Co’s version, I think Fish & Co is undoubtedly the restaurant the serves the “Best Fish and Chips in Town”.
Fish & Co offers more than the usual fish and chips that taste vaguely of breadcrumbs soaked in oil that could have fish in it somewhere.
With the quality and taste, I’m sure they only use the freshest fish and seafood, as well as natural ingredients like olive oil, herbs and various spices; Fish & Co. pans out great tasting meals in generous portions, all the better to feed you with.
Fish & Co has been around since 1998, their first restaurant was opened in Plaza Singapura but due to popular demand they have opened multiple outlets throughout Singapore and overseas with new franchises such as “The Simple Life” opened to further boost their business and presence in major Asian Cities.
Within the first five years of operation, the restaurant has already made a strong presence in the Singapore market and anchored beyond the local shores into Malaysia, Middle East, Australia, Indonesia and is still foraying into many different parts of the world.
With the very same passion that started the first ever Fish & Co., the owners have in their vision to bring Fish & Co. to every part of the world and to serve seafood in a pan all around the world.
Fish & Co. is a division of Fish & Co. Restaurants Pte Ltd. Under the umbrella of Fish & Co. Restaurants is also Oceana Seafood Pte Ltd whose main business is in procurement and distribution of fish and seafood.
Disclaimer: Most of the photos above are not the actual fish and chips presentation.
