26 Mar 2009After exploring Gardens of Malasag, Nina and I dropped by the Cagayan de Oro City public market to buy DVDs for our evening DVD marathon. Since SLERS Ham & Cafe was near the hotel, we decided to checkout the famous deli shop for some pasalubong shopping.

Slers Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich P60
We were still full since we just had a huge lunch at Bigbys but out of curiosity, we ended up ordering their special ham sandwiches. Since we were the only customer that time, everything was prepared and served in less than 5 minutes.
I ordered Grilled Ham and Cheese while Nina ordered Classic Hamon, Eric followed from the Hotel and ordered Supreme Club sandwich back to back with Smoked Chicken sandwich.
I liked how the sandwiches were prepared and served, the lettuce was still crunchy, the bread used were freshly baked and the ham was simply awesome.
On their Menu, what you see is what you get, unlike most of the food chains in Manila where the photos in their menu are far from what is actually served.
Trivia : Ofelia “Fely” Cosin Pelaez started her “SLERS” Ham business in 1969 at their backyard in Bukidnon. Why SLERS? The brand name SLERS is an acronym of the names of Fely’s children (Shirley, Litlit, Earl, Ray and Sharon).
