My love affair with crepes started about 2 years ago when I first tasted mango and ice cream filled crepe in the beautiful island of Boracay. Since then I always make sure to order one whenever it’s available in any restaurant’s menu. This rich, fluffy, and light gastronomic delight has been my favorite dessert eversince.
A couple of days ago, I was invited to go to Crepes & Cream food tasting event in SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. After checking their menu, I learned that crepes can actually be served and mixed with almost any type of food and aside from dessert, it can also be served as a main course.
Although Crepe originated in France, the preparation and ingredients evolved from one country to another. In Crepes & Crème, you can make your own crepe by mixing any ingredient that you love from sweet strawberry to crunchy and healthy lettuce to savory crab meats.
I ordered the Japanese inspired Kani Mango Crepe which is made of crab sticks, ebiko, fresh lettuce, sweet riped mangoes and mayonnaise dressing. They also offer Pinoy inspired crepes with choices of Pork Floss Cheesy Omelete, Spicy Tuna Onion and Chicken Adobo fillings.
For dessert, I already knew what I was gonna order without looking at their menu and It should be anything with strawberries. They call it “Crazy for Strawberries Crepe” – It has a scoop of Strawberry Ice Cream, diced fresh strawberries, whipped cream with strawberry syrup. Will I go back? Definitely Yes!!!
You can visit any of the following Crepes and Cream branch lcoated at SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia and Forbes Town Square inside The Fort.
