Beer Batter Fish and Chips @ FishBar Boracay

It was my last day and last meal on the island since I had an early afternoon flight back to Manila. After having breakfast in Cafe del Sol, I went back to the hotel to freshen up and to finish packing my belongings as well. I must correct my previous assumption that the majority of restaurants in D’Mall area all offering Pasta, Fried Chicken and Coffee haha. I told myself that I should try something different before I leave the island… and Guess What it was? … Fish and Chips (LOL). It may sound funny but I haven’t tried eating fish and chips yet that’s why I included FishBar in my itinerary.

It’s not the choice of food to eat while on a calorie-controlled diet or weight watching but since It was my last day… I would rather drop the weight watching thing and enjoy the food instead.

I liked the simple design of the restaurant, the prominent blue and white combination of the interior makes the place look refreshing and relaxing. The restaurant was not full when I arrived, in fact only two tables were occupied. The location of the restaurant in not in front the beach area so you can expect a more sombre but not private dining considering that the resto is fronting D’Malls Ferris Wheel. The food price range is from Php200.00 – Php500.00 and has a huge servings. The restaurant can only accommodate up to 40 people at a time so make sure to make a reservation if your going in large groups.

I ordered Beer Batter Fish & Chips (Php290) assuming that it was just a small slice of fish and a single serving of potato wedges but the servings was actually good for sharing. I don’t know what kind of fish was used but it was good, boneless, and really tasty. I like the way they fried the fish, it’s crispy and not salty and comes with mayonnaise dip, coleslaw and a slice of lemon. I realized that a single order of Fish and Chips was good enough for two so it’s better go with a friend or with your special someone if you want to try their other dishes. I also ordered ice blended fresh pineapple for my drink and it really completed the meal.

The staff at FishBar Boracay are friendly, a typical Filipinos showing great hospitality. I will definitely revisit the restaurant next time I visit Boracay… hmmm probably next month:)
