Tiger Prawns with Coconut Risotto @ Lemoni Cafe Boracay

Posted on November 18, 2008 by pinoy.cravings

It’s almost lunch time and it was just over an hour after finishing a huge Halo Halo from Boracay’s famous Halowich. While completing my pasalubong shopping at D’Mall, I bumped into Tina - my fellow travel writer who now resides in Dubai and currenly in Boracay for a short holiday with her friends so I asked he to reccomend good place to eat since she’s already almost 4 days in the island. She immediately replied “Lemoni Cafe” Knowing her taste, I can say that the restaurant should really be worth recommending.

Lemoni Cafe offers Asian and Continental breakfast dishes and light meal dishes like Fish Cakes with Laksa, Asian Plate with Maki and Lemon Kinilaw, Soba Noodles with Ahi Tuna, Tiger Prawns with Coconut Rissoto, Seared Tuna with Lemon Mash and other healthy main courses. They also offer various delectable desserts like Flourless Chocolate Cakes, Banana Muffin and Lemon-based Desserts.

Belgian Chocolate Flourless Cake - A must try

The restaurants interior is brightly colored and the location is easy to find, In fact its just right beside the famous D’Mall’s Ferris Wheel. I ordered Tiger Prawns with Coconut Risotto (Php495.00), Grilled Tiger Prawns are huge prawns (Sugpo) served with Coconut Risotto and steamed KangKong Leaves, although a little bit on the pricey side, the food is really good. Coconut Risotto is a rich and creamy traditional Italian rice dish cooked with coconut cream or milk. For dessert I tried their Belgian Chocolate Flourless Cake (Php170.00) Not as good as the flourless chocolate sin @ Zuzuni but its definitely a must try.

The restaurant is owned by Julia Lervik, a longtime resident of Boracay who is also into DragonBoat racing. Lemoni Cafe was recently recognized by “The Philippine Tatler” magazine as one of the country’s top restaurants of 2007. Lemoni Cafe accepts all major credit cards and is open everyday from 8:00am to 11:00pm.
