3 Sep 2008After our first day of Kadayawan Festival coverage it was time for us to feast on Davao’s best foods. Davao Bloggers who happened to be the organizers of WordCamp Philippines 2008 hosted a dinner for us in Lachi’s Sans Rival, Atbp.

Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs
The restaurant is distant from the highway where there is less pollution and noisy vehicles but none the less accessible.
The interior is small, quaint and is more of a cafeteria type, with less than 10 tables but since Ria aleady reserved the tables for us.. No one could stop to pig-out!

Elsie’s Melt-in-your-Mouth Roast Pork
If you think that Lachi’s is only good for their signature and bestseller Sans Rival, think Again! This lovely restaurant serves great meals and delicious mouth-watering cakes, better than most cakes I’ve tasted in Manila.

According to Winston – a Davao Blogger, one of the bestselling rice meal is called “Unforgettable Pork Ribs”. Since it was recommended by a local, I immediately oredered one and true enough Lachi’s “Unforgettable Pork Ribs” hold true to it’s name. The sweet barbeque flavored meat was so tender it almost fell off the bones.
We also ordered Pork Marinara, a tomato based pasta with crunchy breaded pork strips layered on top – definitely a must try.
The Vegetarian Breaded Tofu was also a hit, its best for people who want to eat but are watching their calorie intake. Im not a big fan of Tofu but after tasting Lachi’s Breaded Tofu, I’m now a convert.
After eating “fantabulous” rice meals and pasta, Andrew, Ria and Winston ordered several desserts.
The Durian Cheescake is definitely my favorite not only because Durian is my favorite fruit but because the cheesecake is not too sweet.

Blueberry New York Style cheesecake
We also tried Lachi’s famous Sans Rival, Cherry New York Style cheesecake, Mud Pie and Blueberry New York Style cheesecake.
Lachi’s is definitely a must visit restaurant in Davao.

In comparison of Manila and Cebu restaurants, the prices of the cakes and meals in Lachi’s are less expensive and definitely a bang for your buck.

I had the ribs too. The name is very appropriate. I still can’t forget it. Affordable too.
I suggest you put the prices of the dishes so that your readers may be better informed.
