Cooking Healthy Laksa with Singaporean Celebrity Chef Lisa Leong

Singapore Laksa is one of my favorite Asian noodle soup. Laksa is a spicy noodles served in coconut curry soup complete with vegetables, shrimp, spices and thin rice noodles. On a cold temperature, this popular Asian soup would be the perfect comfort food but for spicy food lover like me…. Laksa is perfect! Rain or Shine!

Singapore Laksa Ingredients

Last month, Lisa Leong visited Manila to promote the healthy benefits of medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) which can be found in virgin coconut oil.

Along with fellow bloggers and other media practitioners, we were invited to watch and learn as Lisa Leong shares her culinary expertise in Healthy Gourmet Cooking.

It was not my first time to try Laksa in fact I always order one in Heritage Hotel whenever they feature Singapore Cuisine. Obviously I love spicy food and when i heard that Liza will prepare a healthy Laksa for us using “Dancing Chef” Laksa Paste, I simply said WOW. Unlike the traditional Laksa, Lisa did not include the prawns and other fatty ingredients but the taste is pretty much the same and I definitely love it.

Lisa Leong explained that not all oily foods are bad for the health in fact most of her recipes are using Coconut Oil as main ingredient. Most Asian foods have high fat content and according to Chef Lisa Leong, using MCT virgin coconut oil (medium-chain triglycerides) can be the best alternative instead of using a regular vegetable oil.

After the healthy meal cooking and tasting session, Tang City hosted a nice Chinese set dinner in Glorietta where the event was held. Team Asia distributed samples of their products to the media and bloggers who attended the launch.
